Policies

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

JST Coaching & Training may cancel or reschedule trainings at its discretion. We are not responsible for costs, outside of course fee refunds, which may be incurred by participants as a result of such cancellations or rescheduling. Additional courses are added based on enrollment.

JST Coaching & Training will notify participants at least two weeks in advance of a training cancellation, unless an unforeseen emergency deems it necessary to cancel a class in short order. Course fees will be refunded to each participant or applied to a future course at the participants’ discretion. We will not cover refunds for travel expenses for onsite training.

Note: The maximum recovery under any circumstance for any training is the amount paid to JST for the training. Your signature on the Participant Agreement Form signifies your acceptance of this policy.

Attendance Policy

In order to provide you with the minimum required training hours for certification, it is important that you are present at all lessons.

If you have an emergency or become ill and are not able to attend a coaching session, please contact your instructor and the Director of Training immediately. You will be expected to complete the lesson materials, review the lesson recording and complete a make-up quiz.

If you need to miss more than the  8 hours (4 lessons) you are allowed to make up for credit for Empowering Students Through Coaching, you will have the option to work with the instructor to cover the missed material for an additional fee or receive a certificate of completion for the total  hours of live class participation. The policy for Coaching Neurodivergent Learners allows for 2 hours (1 lesson) to be made up for credit when missed.

If you miss any group or individual mentor coaching, you will need to arrange and pay for individual mentor coaching sessions to complete the required 10 hours so as to satisfy requirements of the International Coaching Federation.

Petitions to the attendance policy are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted in writing to your instructor/mentor and the Director of Training/Mentoring. JST Coaching & Training must follow the International Coaching Federation guidelines regarding the number of synchronous (live) sessions participants must attend.

Partial Course Completion Policy

JST Coaching & Training offers credit for partial completion of a course. We maintain detailed attendance records and will issue a certificate for partial completion upon receipt of all asynchronous assignments, if applicable. If you have questions or concerns regarding the partial credit received, please contact the Director of Training, including the details of the course in which you were enrolled, the number of additional credit hours you are seeking and any additional relevant information. JST Coaching & Training will review your request and based on the course attendance policy, consider providing additional credit hours for the training.

In addition, JST Coaching & Training prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability and ensures equal opportunity for all qualified individuals with disabilities.

Our organization does not and will not tolerate conduct by any employee, student, volunteer, contractor, visitor, or vendor which unreasonably interferes with an individual’s ability to learn in a welcoming environment.

Participants who wish to report that they believe they have experienced discrimination, or observed it during any course, are encouraged to follow the grievance policy outlined in our Complaint/Grievance Policy. JST Coaching & Training will promptly investigate all claims and reports of conduct that may be a concern.

Transfer of Credit Policy

JST Coaching & Training does not accept transfer credits from other coach training programs and requires that incoming participants take the program from beginning to end to obtain a Level 1 certificate, regardless of previous training hours.

Payment Policy

All registrations are secured on a first-come, first-served basis. Participant registration in a course is dependent upon receipt of payment in full or at minimum the initial installment of a payment plan (when applicable). We accept online payments by debit or credit card and will invoice a payment link upon request. All payments will be in U.S. dollars. In addition, payments must be made in full before eligible participants will be able to receive a certificate of course completion.

Refund Policy

If a participant withdraws from the course before Lesson 2, JST Coaching & Training will refund 90% of the payment received. After that time, we offer a prorated refund or credit towards a future course. No refunds will be provided after Lesson 4 for Empowering Students and Lesson 1 for Coaching Neurodivergent Learners, except under documented special/emergency circumstances. Refunds for all shorter courses must be requested before Lesson 1.
As noted above: The maximum recovery under any circumstance for any training is the amount paid to JST for the training. Your signature on the Participant Agreement Form signifies your acceptance of this policy.

Illness Policy

In order to provide you with the minimum required training hours for certification, it is important that you are present at all lessons. If you have an emergency or become ill and are not able to attend a lesson, please contact your instructor and the Director of Training immediately. You will be expected to complete the lesson materials, review the lesson recording and complete a make-up quiz. More details can be found under the Attendance Policy.

Complaint/Grievance Policy

JST Coaching & Training seeks to ensure equitable treatment of every person and to attempt to solve any grievances in a timely and fair manner. Participants have the right to file a grievance regarding presentation or content, facility concerns, or instructor/faculty behavior. All grievances will be addressed to the best of our ability to prevent further problems. A process for filing grievances can be found below:

First, participants should attempt to resolve the issue directly with the educator/trainer, staff, or participant with whom they have an issue. If participants are not comfortable approaching the individual, they can proceed to the next step.

If participants are not comfortable approaching the individual with whom they have a grievance, or are unable to resolve the issue directly, participants should submit a written grievance to the Director of Training within 5 days.

The Director of Training will review the issue and talk to the participant within 3 days of receiving the complaint. The Director of Training will collaborate with all parties involved to resolve the issue.

If a participant does not feel the issue is resolved, a written request for an appeal should be sent to Jodi Sleeper-Triplett, CEO, for review. This appeal should include the original complaint and reason(s) the participant is unsatisfied with the resolution attempt(s). Appeals are reviewed and a written response will be provided to the participant within ten business days. All appeal decisions are final.

Dispute Resolution

If a participant is dissatisfied with any policy or resolution of a concern above, the sole remedy is to follow our formal dispute resolution procedure.

In our many years of operations, JST has had very few issues regarding its services. However, in the event that a participant feels that an issue has not been resolved through the above procedures, JST believes that it is important to provide an opportunity to resolve the rare dispute in an amicable fashion. All disputes with JST, except collection matters, will be subject to the following dispute resolution approach:

Step One: The dispute shall be submitted to mediation through the procedures then in effect by a dispute resolution organization in Alexandria, VA, selected by the mutual agreement of the parties. Mediation will be attempted first.

Step Two: If mediation is not successful, the dispute will then be submitted for binding arbitration with a dispute resolution agency selected by mutual agreement of the parties. Where possible, the dispute will be submitted to the arbitrator in writing to further reduce the costs of dispute resolution. If this is not possible, the arbitrator shall determine the most appropriate location for the hearing. The arbitrator may allocate arbitration costs between the parties, including legal fees, as part of a determination of a dispute under this Agreement.

Note. Unless agreed otherwise between the parties, or the arbitrator orders a certain allocation of costs, the costs of mediation and/or arbitration shall be borne equally by the parties. Each party shall bear its own counsel and preparation costs, if any.

Choice of Law:
JST is based in Alexandria, VA. The laws of the State of Virginia will apply to any relationship between the parties.
