At JST Coaching & Training, our enrollment process lets you review program requirements, ask questions, and allows us to get to know you. These steps help set you up for success in our coach training program. We recognize that enrolling in our program involves a high level of commitment, and we present these requirements to provide an understanding of our expectations.
All participants are expected to:
Personal Development
- Have completed at least two years of post-secondary education.
- Be open to self-reflection, critical thinking, and exploring different coaching perspectives.
Attendance
- Attend weekly synchronous classes for 2 hours per week for 30 weeks.
- Notify the JST team in advance of class of any planned or emergency absences. Credit hours are awarded based on participation in live classes, however, there is an option to make-up a limited number of missed sessions.
Technology
- Access the Zoom platform to participate in weekly synchronous learning classes via computer or smart phone with a camera. Telephone access is to be used as a backup only, not as your primary method of participation.
- Access course materials, resources and videos via a private Microsoft SharePoint site.
Acquire Clients
- Secure at least two adult clients for life coaching, by week 4 of class, who are willing to have their coaching sessions audio recorded for JST ACC evaluation purposes and for your ICF ACC credential application.
Time Commitment
- Attend weekly classes 2 hours per week live, synchronous class including lectures, demonstrations, and coaching practices for 30 weeks.
- Be prepared to spend at least six (6) hours/week outside of the class to:
- Review lesson materials prior to each class.
- Complete reading/video assignments as required for upcoming lessons.
- Connect with an assigned coaching buddy for one (1) hour/week.
- Answer questions related to the self-study assignments.
- Meet with an assigned mentor for four (4) hours of individual mentoring and attend four (4) 90-minute group mentoring sessions.
- Submit written responses for self-study assignments within two weeks after the course ends to receive a certificate, necessary for ICF coach training credits.
Financial Commitment
- Be paid in full by the end of the course.
- Additional financial responsibilities not included in the program fee include:
- Purchase of course related books as outlined in the self-study portion of the course.
- Note these are not included in the course fee and will range from approximately $60-$75 USD each.
- ICF membership and ICF ACC application and examination fees.
- Additional mentoring hours (optional).
